What to expect from the Critical Incident Team:

• As soon as the Critical Incident Team is notified, the first goal is to remove you from the scene and get you to your agencies headquarters.

• An attorney of your choice will respond to your location.  If you need a recommendation for an attorney, the Critical Incident Team can make a recommendation for you.

• A Critical Incident Team member will make sure you contact your family to let them know you are safe.

• A Critical Incident Team member will stay with you throughout the entire incident until you are released to go home. 

• The Critical Incident Team will be available to answer any questions that you may during the incident.

• The Critical Incident Team usually provides food and drinks to those involved.  It could be several hours until you are released to go home.

• The Critical Incident Team will assist you in filing your legal aid claims.

• The most important thing is that the Critical Incident Team is there to help and assist you and to guide you through the process.

The Critical Incident Team will also follow up with the member in the weeks and months to come to make sure he or she is doing well.  The Critical Incident Team is always available for questions should the member need anything after their incident.
